Since the Pledge of Allegiance and
The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore,
because the word "God" is mentioned....a kid in Arizona wrote the following:

NEW School prayer

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Praying God’s Absolutes

Raising kids in this day and age is not an easy task for anyone.  That’s why we need to know what the Word of God says and utilize our authority in Christ when we pray for our young people.  Here are some powerful prayers that you can pray over your children or yourself.

PRAYER FOR WISDOM

Father, thank You for giving our children a spirit of wisdom and revelation.  Their heads are covered with the helmet of salvation, and they have the mind of Christ.  I pray that they will make intelligent, informed, and spirit-led decisions today.  May they enjoy supernatural discernment and make clever evaluation of every situation they encounter.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Ephesians 1:17; Ephesians 6:17; I Corinthians 2:16)

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION

Father, thank You that my children will have their refuge and fortress of protection in You.  No evil shall come upon them, neither will any sickness, disease, or tragedy come near to their dwelling.  Thank You for commissioning Your angels to guard, protect, and defend them from all harm.  I pray that no weapon that is designed against them will succeed and every tongue that would rise up against them will be silenced in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

(Psalm 91:1, 10-11; Isaiah 54:17; Hebrews 1:13-14)

PRAYER FOR FAVOR

Father, thank You that my children are blessed of God and surrounded with favor as a shield.  I pray that throughout the day, people in their lives will be predisposed to want to bless, assist, and encourage them.  I believe that they will enjoy unusual cooperation and overwhelming goodwill in all their activities. As that they walk in favor with You, I thank You for complimenting them with favor and promotion from people.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Psalm 5:12; Luke 2:52; Acts 2:47)

PRAYER FOR BOLDNESS

Father, I thank You for giving my children a spirit of boldness as they walk with You.  I pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will rise up within them to be the witness for Christ that You want them to be.  I pray that they will never be ashamed of the Gospel but realize it is the power of God to save and deliver hurting people.  Thank You that they do not operate with fear or apprehension, but rather are as bold as a lion, possessing strength, confidence, and a steadfast mind.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16; II Timothy 1:7; Proverbs 28:1)

PRAYER FOR ASSIGNMENT

Father, I thank You that my children have been given a gift and assignment from heaven. I pray that the unique abilities that You have placed in them will make room for them and bring them before the great leaders of our day.  I pray that they will walk in accuracy and obedience to Your complete and perfect will.  I know that when You saved them, You also called them with a holy and distinct calling. Help them to faithfully develop their talents and tools in such a way that place them in high regard and great demand in the marketplace of this world.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

(Proverbs 18:16; Isaiah 1:19; II Timothy 1:9)

PRAYER FOR A MATE

Father, I thank You for preparing the right partner in life for my child.  I pray that they both will begin now fully cultivating and maturing the love of God in their lives.  Thank You that the love of God has been shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Spirit.  I pray that this love will become apparent through their thoughts and actions daily.  Help them to learn to esteem others above themselves, to be composed, generous, truthful, and honorable in all they deal with in life.  I pray that their courtship and engagement will be marked by poise and purity and that their marriage will be timed and orchestrated by You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

(Proverbs 18:22; I Corinthians 13:4-8; Romans 5:5)

PRAYER FOR STRENGTH

Father, I thank You for giving my children a spirit of might and extraordinary strength to resist temptation and stand strong against the schemes of the devil.  I pray that they will stand today, fully clothed in the armor of God, and successfully stop and extinguish every dart fired by their enemy. Thank you that today they focus their eyes on Jesus Christ, looking to His Word.  I thank You that they are strong because the Word of God lives and endures in them, and they have overcome and completely conquered the wicked one.  In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

     (Ephesians 3:16; Ephesians 6:11; I John 2:14)
